Food Allergies Mean Dollar Signs for Food Industry
January 11, 2010
Often, cutting out just one of these foods, even without an official diagnosis, can work wonders for allergy sufferers, and it seems like everyone's getting in on the act to make that as easy as possible, Nation included. Her MyFoodMyHealth website offers a low-cost family meal planning resource that helps families juggling multiple and diverse allergies plan a "single, delicious meal" each night that accommodates everyone's ailments. The concept itself, and the fact that it has attracted nearly 2,000 subscribers already, shows just how complicated allergies have gotten for families to deal with, and how hungry they are for help.

Easy Menus for Families with Food Issues
March 17, 2011
Old-fashioned home cooking is very trendy, and for good reasons: Making your own food is nearly always healthier for you than dining out or ordering in, plus it's cheaper, and good for families to cook and eat together. But let's be frank—it can be a total chore.
I find that the hardest part is coming up with recipe ideas that aren't the same old chicken/pasta/broccoli, and it's especially hard when you're cooking for family members with health issues that require special diets, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, gluten intolerance, and food allergies.

Victoria Amory Picks - MyFoodMyHealth

Caroline Nation, founder, master mind and creator of MyFoodMyHealth is one of my oldest friends. She is charming, clever, intelligent, funny, a true friend and a great business woman. I don’t want to get teary eyed while I write this but I must say that it is incredibly rare to find such wonderful qualities in one person.
After a fabulous career in the fashion publishing industry as Associate Publisher of W and Publisher of W Europe, Caroline switched gears, went back to school and became a certified nutritionist. She started a nutrition practice in London and returned to her native New York in 2004.
MyFoodMyHealth was founded on the belief that nutrition plays an extremely important role in the prevention, treatment and management of health conditions. Eating the right things is not about restricting the foods we eat, but rather about knowing what foods are out there to improve your health. Cooking delicious, nutritious and healthy foods is a sure way to improve your health, prevent ailments and manage health issues. I totally agree!

MyFoodMyHealth Helps People Manage Multiple Health Conditions Using Delicious Food
New York, NY – January 6, 2009 – MyFoodMyHealth, Inc. today announced the launch of MyFoodMyHealth (www.myfoodmyhealth.com), a food and wellness website that provides healthy meal plans, flavorful recipes and online tools designed especially for individuals and families who have multiple health conditions or allergies. One of the most difficult aspects of cooking for multiple dietary needs is coming up with one meal everyone at the table can enjoy. MyFoodMyHealth enables users to enter health concerns – such as diabetes, high cholesterol and wheat allergy-then uses a proprietary algorithm to find recipes and create meal plans that address all of the special dietary requirements. The quick and easy recipes on MyFoodMyHealth were created by professional chefs and nutrition experts who put an emphasis on delivering both great taste and nutrition. All health and nutrition information is science-based and reviewed by experienced nutritionists and physicians.
"Life becomes significantly more complicated if you are one of the millions of people who must deal with dietary restrictions due to health conditions", said Caroline Nation, founder of MyFoodMyHealth. We designed our website to simplify that process and to shift the focus from what you can't eat to what you can eat and enjoy.
The MyFoodMyHealth website provides expert information and simple, online tools, including:
- A weekly online meal planner that automatically generates menus tailored for your family’s health and dietary needs.
- Easy-to-prepare recipes with a broad range of international flavors that make it a pleasure to eat healthy foods.
- Time-saving weekly shopping lists, pantry basics and online shopping resources.
- Health and nutritional information for specific health conditions.
- Exclusive cooking, health and nutritional videos and articles.
- Expert culinary tips and tools.
“Over the last 30 years. I have learned about the tremendous power of food to influence our emotional and physical health, both from personal experience and from studying nutritional science.” said Susan Lord, MD chief medical advisor for MyFoodMyHealth, Inc. This website is designed to support healthy eating within the context of our busy lives. It provides the information you need to easily adopt new menus that not only address your specific health concerns, but are so delicious you will want to eat this way.”
At launch, the MyFoodMyHealth service supports multiple health conditions, including: acne, arthritis, asthma, candidiasis, celiac, depression, diabetes, eczema, fatigue, gout, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hypothyroid, osteoporosis, pre- and post- chemotherapy and radiation, psoriasis, recently quit drinking, recently quit smoking, and stress. The service also takes into consideration food allergies so families can share meals together safely. Its unique algorithm can eliminate recipes with common food allergens including: almonds, chicken, chili pepper, corn, crab, eggs, gluten, milk, oats, peanuts, sesame seed/oil, shrimp, soy, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes and wheat. Over time, support for additional health conditions and allergies will be added. Users can make special requests for additional allergy needs and will receive a response within 48 hours.
Health information and sample recipes are available at no charge on MyFoodMyHealth and the recipe and meal planning service is available by subscription. For pricing and details, please see MyFoodMyHealth.
